These toys are made up of ninety-degree curves and can be broken down into many different fidgets. It is also designed to be non-distracting, making it a great choice for people with sensory processing disorders. Other benefits of tangles include the fact that they don’t make any noise and can be handled one-handed
What Parents Should Know Before Buying
This twistable segmented toy suits older children and adults who seek a quiet, hands-on focus tool. While the shop lists an 18+ recommendation due to testing standards, the design actually fits a wide age range. Many children ages 5 and up enjoy it for calming restless hands during homework or long car rides, always under adult supervision. Its subtle, silent motion makes it one of the more classroom-friendly fidget options, as it doesn’t click or snap loudly. The compact size slips easily into a pocket or pencil case, ready whenever the need to fidget strikes.
The ABS plastic body feels smooth, with linking segments that glide and rotate without pinching. The material is tough enough to survive drops and repeated bending, but it’s not meant for chewing. Small teeth can mar the surface, so discourage biting. Over time, the joints may loosen slightly, but that rarely affects function if handled normally. For parents of children who are rough on toys, it’s worth checking for cracks periodically and removing it if any piece breaks, though this is uncommon with typical use.
- Clean with a damp cloth and mild soap. Avoid submerging in water, as liquid can seep into the hinge areas and make movement sticky.
- Store in a dry place. Pocket lint can gather between segments, so an occasional wipe keeps the twisting motion smooth.
- The color sent is chosen at random. If your child would be frustrated by not receiving a specific shade, this may not be the best match.
- Watch younger siblings. The toy is not a teether, and curious toddlers could try to mouth it. Keep it out of reach when not in use.
